Getting from Orly airport to Paris is simpler than it used to be: since 2024, a direct metro line runs from the terminals to the city center, and older guides that mention the Orlybus are out of date. Orly (ORY) is Paris’s second airport, smaller than Charles de Gaulle and much closer to the city, but its transfer options can still confuse first-time visitors. Here is what you need to know before you land.<\/p>

How Far Is Orly Airport From Paris?<\/h3>

Orly is about 13 km (8 miles) south of central Paris, noticeably closer than Charles de Gaulle. In light traffic, a direct drive takes 25\u201330 minutes. At peak hours, allow closer to 45 minutes.<\/p>

Orly Airport to Paris: Your Transfer Options Compared<\/h3>

Metro line 14<\/strong> \u2014 The fastest public option. Since June 2024, line 14 runs directly from Orly to central Paris (Ch\u00e2telet) in about 25 minutes, with no transfers. You need the Paris Region \u2194 Airports ticket (\u20ac14 in 2026), not a standard metro ticket. The station serves Orly 1, 2 and 3.<\/p>

Orlyval + RER B<\/strong> \u2014 Take the RER B to Antony, then the Orlyval shuttle train to the airport. The same \u20ac14 ticket covers the journey, but it is less direct than line 14 for most central destinations and involves a change with luggage.<\/p>

Tram T7<\/strong> \u2014 The budget option: about 45 minutes to Villejuif\u2013Louis Aragon, where you connect to metro line 7. It is slow, and only worth considering if you are traveling light.<\/p>

Night buses<\/strong> \u2014 After the metro closes, Noctilien lines N22, N31, N131 and N144 connect Orly with central Paris (Ch\u00e2telet or Gare de Lyon). The Orlybus, which many older guides still mention, stopped running in March 2025.<\/p>

Taxi<\/strong> \u2014 Regulated flat fares apply from the airport: about \u20ac36 to the Left Bank and about \u20ac44\u201345 to the Right Bank in 2026, with possible supplements. Queues can be unpredictable at busy times, and you depend on whichever driver is next in line.<\/p>

Private chauffeur transfer<\/strong> \u2014 The most direct option: door to door, with no change of transport and no queue.
