Политика конфиденциальности
How we collect, use and protect your personal information.
Last updated:
01Who we are
This policy explains how Paris Ride handles personal information about website visitors, customers, passengers and prospective independent driver partners.
The data controller is PARIS RIDE, a French single-member simplified joint-stock company (SASU), registered under SIREN 752940668, with its registered office at 3 Rue Victor Hugo, 92600 Asnières-sur-Seine, France.
For privacy enquiries, contact contact@parisride.com. Further company information is available in our Legal Notice.
02Information we collect
- Contact enquiries: first and last name, email address, telephone number, whether you are contacting us as an individual or a professional, and any optional message you provide.
- Customer accounts: email address, authentication information, profile details, billing addresses, order history and references associated with saved payment methods.
- Bookings: contact and billing details, pickup and destination addresses, travel dates and times, booking selections and optional comments. Business billing details include the company name, tax number and company address when supplied.
- Partner enquiries: professional contact details, application exchanges and documents provided privately for verification, as explained below.
- Technical information: IP addresses, browser and device information, request timestamps and security-related events processed through hosting and integrated services.
Required information enables us to answer enquiries, authenticate accounts or arrange and invoice a journey. Without the information necessary for a particular service, we may be unable to provide it. Messages, booking comments and business billing details are optional where indicated.
Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in free-text fields. If you book for another passenger, provide only the information needed for their journey and make this policy available to them.
03Why we use your information
- Arranging journeys, administering accounts, taking payments and handling booking changes: performance of a contract or steps requested before entering into a contract.
- Answering general enquiries: our legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact us; pre-contractual steps where an enquiry concerns a proposed booking.
- Assessing independent driver partnerships: pre-contractual steps where applicable, and our legitimate interest in selecting suitable partners and checking professional information.
- Accounting and statutory record-keeping: compliance with legal obligations.
- Protecting the website, preventing abuse and managing disputes: our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure service and protecting our legal rights.
- Processing that requires consent: your consent, where applicable, including for non-essential tracking that is subject to consent requirements.
Submitting a form or accepting our booking terms does not, by itself, constitute consent to advertising or optional tracking.
04Accounts and Google sign-in
You can book without creating an account. An account allows you to view current and previous orders and manage your profile, billing address and saved payment options.
You can register using your email address and set a password, or use the available Google sign-in option. Google sign-in provides authentication information, such as your Google account identifier and email address, together with profile information covered by the permissions shown during sign-in. We use this information to create, identify or authenticate your customer account. Google does not provide us with your Google password.
Google also processes information under its Политика конфиденциальности. To request deletion of your Paris Ride account, email contact@parisride.com. Account deletion does not remove records that must be retained separately for legal purposes.
05Payments
Payments are processed through Stripe. Stripe processes the payment credentials and transaction information needed to complete payments, authenticate transactions and prevent fraud. The information we use to administer your booking includes payment references, amounts, payment status and refund information.
When you choose to save a payment method, the payment integration associates a payment-method reference with your account for future use. Stripe also processes certain information for its own legal, security and financial-service purposes, as explained in its Политика конфиденциальности.
Please do not send full payment-card details or security codes through our contact form, email or WhatsApp.
06Driver partnerships
Professional enquiries concern partnerships with independent drivers. Following an initial telephone conversation, we request relevant verification documents privately by email or messaging, including WhatsApp. These can include a driving licence, identity document, Kbis company registration extract and professional VTC card.
We review these documents to assess professional eligibility and cross-check relevant business information against public registers or business directories, such as Societe.com. Applications are assessed personally, not accepted or rejected solely by an automated selection process. Without the information needed to complete verification, we cannot finalise a partnership.
Copies supplied for verification are deleted after the review. This is separate from the contact, contractual and transaction information necessary to administer an accepted partnership or comply with record-keeping obligations.
07Who receives your information
Within Paris Ride, administrative access to website records is limited to the site administrator. Information is also processed by the providers necessary to operate the service:
- Kinsta: website hosting, infrastructure, security and hosting backups. The site's primary data centre is in Paris, France.
- IONOS: hosting of our email service, including messages received at contact@parisride.com.
- Stripe: payment processing and associated services.
- Google: sign-in, mapping and website protection, as described in this policy.
- WhatsApp: messaging when used for exchanges with applicants or driver partners, subject to its Политика конфиденциальности.
We send the information needed to perform a journey to the assigned driver or transport partner, including relevant passenger contact details, pickup and destination information, travel times and necessary instructions. These exchanges take place by email or WhatsApp.
Information can also be disclosed to competent authorities or professional advisers where required by law or necessary to address a dispute. A provider's role depends on the service: some process information on our behalf, while others also have independent legal responsibilities.
08Maps and website protection
Google Maps supports location searches and journey-related mapping. Using these features involves sending relevant requests to Google, including technical connection information and the locations submitted for the feature. Google's processing is described in its Политика конфиденциальности.
Google reCAPTCHA helps protect forms and the website against bots, spam and abusive activity. It processes technical and interaction signals for security assessments. Under Google's current reCAPTCHA terms, Google acts as a processor of customer data for this service. Further information is available in the reCAPTCHA data-processing documentation.
Security services can automatically assess suspicious activity or require additional verification. This is distinct from our personal assessment of independent driver applications. Contact us if a technical security check prevents you from submitting a legitimate enquiry.
09International processing
Although the site's primary hosting location is Paris, using international providers involves processing that can take place outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Hosting location alone does not mean that every provider processes all information exclusively in France.
Providers describe their international processing and transfer arrangements in their applicable privacy notices and contractual terms. These arrangements include European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable conditions are met, adequacy mechanisms. Kinsta's Data Processing Addendum incorporates Standard Contractual Clauses for relevant transfers.
You can contact us for further information about the recipients and safeguards relevant to your information, including how to obtain a copy of applicable safeguards.
10How long we keep information
We currently manage deletion manually, using the following retention rules:
- Inactive customer accounts: one year after the most recent sign-in or order placed through the account, whichever is later.
- General information enquiries without a resulting commercial transaction: one year after the enquiry is closed.
- Unsuccessful partner enquiries: one year after the exchanges are closed, excluding verification copies deleted after review.
- Driver verification copies: deleted after completion of the verification.
- Active partnership administration: information necessary to manage the partnership is kept while it continues, with contractual and accounting archives retained separately where required.
- Commercial contracts and associated records: generally five years after the contractual relationship ends, subject to longer mandatory periods.
- Consumer contracts concluded electronically for EUR 120 or more: retained before performance and for ten years after the service is performed.
- Invoices and accounting records: ten years from the end of the relevant financial year.
Where a claim or dispute requires specific evidence to be preserved, relevant records are retained until the matter is finally resolved and applicable legal requirements are satisfied. These exceptions do not justify keeping an entire customer profile indefinitely.
Removing information from active records does not immediately erase older hosting backups. Backup copies expire through the hosting service's backup cycle and are not used as a separate active customer database.
11Cookies and analytics
Cookies and similar technologies support functions such as account sessions, bookings, payments and website security. Integrated third-party services can also use storage or access information on your device. The applicable consent requirements depend on their actual purposes and configuration.
As of the date above, Google Analytics and WP Statistics are not active on this website. Plans to introduce analytics or advertising do not mean that those tools are currently collecting information.
Before introducing optional audience-measurement or advertising tools, we will update the relevant information and provide consent controls where required. Traceurs subject to consent must not be activated before agreement, and consent must be withdrawable. Merely visiting this website or making a booking is not acceptance of optional tracking.
For questions about the technologies used on the website, contact contact@parisride.com.
12Security
We restrict administrative access and use managed hosting and its security and backup services to help protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. We limit information shared with driver partners to what is needed for the relevant service.
No website, storage system or communication channel can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account credentials confidential and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. Do not send identity documents through the public contact form; professional verification is arranged separately.
13Your rights and contact
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Send your request to contact@parisride.com, or write to PARIS RIDE, 3 Rue Victor Hugo, 92600 Asnières-sur-Seine, France. Please provide enough information to identify the relevant account, booking or enquiry. Additional identity information will be requested only where reasonably necessary to verify the request.
We normally respond within one month. Where the law permits an extension because of the complexity or number of requests, we will inform you within that month and explain the reason; the extension can be up to two further months.
You can also lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority, the CNIL, or another competent supervisory authority. You do not have to contact us before exercising that right.
14Marketing and policy updates
We do not currently operate a promotional newsletter programme. Contacting us, making a booking or creating an account does not automatically subscribe you to future promotional messages. Any future programme will be introduced with appropriate information, consent where required and an accessible way to unsubscribe.
We will update this policy when our services, providers or data-handling practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate before the relevant new processing begins.
